Emergency Preparedness in Post-Acute and Long-Term Care

SUMMARY:
Extreme weather events, natural disasters, and other emergency events are increasingly common in post-acute and long-term care. This session will review several practical strategies to help your team prepare for an emergency event. Best practices to mitigate the effects of trauma on residents and staff will also be discussed.

IN THIS SERIES, ATTENDEES WILL LEARN TO:
1. Identify at least two pre-planning strategies to prepare for an emergency in post-acute and long-term care.
2. Describe best practices to mitigate the effects of trauma during and after a natural disaster or emergency event in post-acute and long-term care.
