SUMMARY:
In this healthcare-associated infection (HAI) prevention educational event, we will discuss interventions to promote collaboration between the infection preventionist (IP) and the clinical leadership team to prevent and manage urinary tract infections (UTIs) in nursing facilities.

IN THIS EVENT, WE WILL:
1. Highlight the importance of multi-disciplinary collaboration between the IP and the medical director.
2. Discuss the medical director’s role in UTI quality improvement initiatives.
3. Review protocols and procedures medical directors and IPs can implement to prevent and manage UTIs.
4. Share resources to support nursing facility infection prevention and control programs.
