Antibiotic Stewardship (AS) remains a national priority aimed at optimizing antibiotic use to effectively treat infections, protect patients from harms caused by unnecessary use and combat antibiotic resistance. Join us and hear from three dynamic speakers, including a CDC physician, a hospitalist lead for a statewide AS medicine safety initiative and a hospital AS pharmacist lead, as they share their expertise and the following:

  • AS best practices and updates, including national trending data and preparing for the 2024 AS reporting requirements for hospitals that participate in Medicare’s Promoting Interoperability program
  • Promising practices to consider, such as incorporating diagnostic stewardship into AS programs (ASP), particularly when thinking upstream about improving diagnosis to improve antibiotic use for asymptomatic bacteriuria
  • Hospital ASP challenges and successes with engaging leaders, providers, and front-line staff in AS efforts
